January was a golden month for high street stores and shopping malls.
The value of sales increased positively in all shopping center stores, with a peak in January, with 32% more sales than in January 2022. August and September proved to be the weakest months in terms of shopping center sales volume, with an increase of just 1% and 4% respectively compared to the same months in 2022.
With regard to high street stores, there was a positive increase in the percentage of sales from January to August. In September, the volume of sales for these stores was 5% lower than in the same month of the previous year. They also peaked in January, with 26% more sales than in January 2022.
In terms of geographical location, the stores showing the greatest increase in sales are those located in the greater Lisbon area, followed by stores in the north/greater Porto area.
